Dean Crommelin (Partner)
Holding a BCom in Accounting and a BCom Accounting Honours from the University of Johannesburg, this Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) founded a corporate finance and advisory business in 2015 with an additional investment wing from 2021. With an exceptional background in financial structuring, private equity, and corporate finance, Dean Crommelin is a trailblazer in high-value transaction execution focussing mainly on highly technical and complicated transactions creating value through forcing outcomes via deal structures. Dean sharpened his expertise at EY, where he completed his articles before earning his Chartered Accountant (CA) (SA) designation in 2013. His early career at Bravura Solutions (2013-2015) provided him with extensive experience in structuring complex financial transactions. In 2015, Dean founded a forex broking firm which later transformed into a corporate finance and investment company. His ability to engineer innovative deal structures led to the establishment of the investment wing of the business having great success for his high net worth clients. Dean is a visionary financial architect, leveraging sophisticated capital structuring strategies to unlock untapped value in corporate transactions and investor-driven acquisitions. His deep understanding of financial engineering and deal structuring sets LEVRG apart as a leader in corporate finance-driven acquisitions and strategic holdings.
Sayuri Pillay (Partner)
With a BA in International Business from UC San Diego (2024) and as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate, this professional brings analytical expertise and strategic insight to LEVRG's innovative investment approach. Bringing a global perspective, investment expertise, and strategic agility, Sayuri represents the new generation of financial leaders. She holds a BA in International Business from UC San Diego (2024) with a specialization in finance, economics, and real estate investment. In her course work, Sayuri has had direct exposure to key U.S. investment banking dealmakers and their transaction records. With a keen analytical mindset and a strong foundation in financial structuring, Sayuri has developed expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, and asset management. As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate, Sayuri has successfully completed Level 1 and is currently pursuing Level 2 certification. Her focus on investment analysis, structured finance, and deal execution plays a pivotal role in LEVRG’s innovative approach to leverage arbitrage and investor-driven transactions. Sayuri's blend of financial acumen, global investment insight, and structured finance expertise brings a new level of strategic execution to LEVRG, allowing the firm to pioneer a fresh, high-value approach to Search Fund acquisitions. Having gained direct exposure to the U.S. financial landscape—widely regarded as the investment capital of the world—she introduces innovative transactional structures that remain underutilized in South Africa. Her exposure to U.S. capital markets has equipped her with fresh perspectives on investor-driven transactions, including sophisticated capital deployment and buy-back strategies that optimize deal efficiency and maximize long-term value creation.
